After being asleep the whole day, it felt good to take a heated shower. Water is and always has been the only way for Aqua to wake up. Well, there are other ways but water has worked the best over the years – Poseidon’s child or not. Then again, her name means water; maybe that was the explanation. Who knows?
The girl had taken her time in the shower. Washing her hair, making sure she was clean and slowly waking up. On occasions, Aqua could have sworn she had heard a dog bark. But from her known knowledge, there was no dog around the Froli apartment. I must be imagining things. She thought, dying off and getting dressed.
Aqua dried off some of her hair with the towel. She was dressed in one of her pj pants and a sleeper tank. Although she wasn’t going to go back to sleep, they were comfy to wear when she didn’t want to wear her sweats.
After one more towel dry, she opened the door and stepped around.
The first thing she noticed was the color red. A pretty red ribbon was wrapped around the neck of a small puppy, sitting on the floor with a wagging tail. The puppy stood up once Aqua was out and barked happily. It was a Parson Russell Terrier; a dog that Aqua would see in dog stores and had always wanted one.
It ran up to Aqua and jumped happily at her legs – she couldn’t help but smile. “Where did you come from, cutie?” She said, petting the top of its head.
I leaned against the door of my bedroom, watching the pup jump over to Aqua.
“I’m from Jersey, you know that.” I joked. “Oh, you’re talking about the dog.”
“Then Finn it is.”
Aqua lend against the wall and petted the dogs back - which he kindly remained calm enough. “Hm..” She wasn’t good at...
